SCHOLARSHIP

GUIDELINES

1. The applicant must be a graduating high school senior (from any high school or home school) who resides within Catawba County.

2. The applicant must have been active in drama and/or community theatre (Acting, backstage, volunteering, etc.). Added consideration will be given to applicants who have been involved with The Green Room.

3. The applicant must have maintained average or above average grades.

4. The applicant must complete the total scholarship application packet and submit it to the office of The Green Room for consideration by the application deadline (May 1st.).

5. The applicant must attach a copy of his/her high school transcript or make arrangements for them to be provided to the scholarship committee by the application deadline (May 1st.).

6. The applicant must attach three (3) letters of recommendations to the application. One of which should be from a person who has a personal knowledge of applicant’s theatrical skills. Family members cannot write letters of recommendation.

7. The applicant must be preparing to pursue further education in the arts, either performing or visual.

8. The applicant’s application must be typed or printed in black ink.

The recipient will be anonymously selected by the scholarship committee formed by the
Board of Directors of The Green Room Community Theatre, Inc.

The scholarship award will be presented on the recipient’s high school award’s day.

Payment of the scholarship will be made to the recipient’s chosen institution upon admittance.

One $1000 scholarship will be awarded.

An additional scholarship of up to

$1000 may also be awarded.
