A NEW home for The ARTS in Catawba County
An exciting new project is underway. The Old Post Office Playhouse will be the new home for The Green Room Community Theatre.
A state-of-the-art, technologically-advanced theatre will be built that respects the history and retains the look of the old Post Office. It will energize downtown Newton and initiates redevelopment efforts.
Aside from The Green Room, the new theatre space will attract touring groups, innovative student theatre and independent film - a true Performing Arts Center worthy of Catawba County.
Fresh new gallery space will provide a home for art installations to showcase visual artists. The Old Post Office Playhouse will be managed by The Green Room and serve as a cultural gathering place for the community,attracting business and initiating a much needed reinvestment in downtown Newton.
